For fifteen years, Tahiya has built a life in the shadows—concealing her origin, her past, and the extraordinary nature of her family. Engineered to be a warrior, forced to adapt to a new world, and challenged to become something else entirely—a mother. Raising four children, each with unique needs of their own, she walks a fragile line between normalcy and survival. In a world that does not cater to them, where they will never truly fit in, survival is more than blending in. Every day is a balancing act—keeping them safe, nurturing their individuality, and preparing them for enemies she prays they will never have to face.
But no matter how fiercely she fights to protect what she has built, the past refuses to stay buried. And when it finally comes for them, Tahiya must decide which mask to wear—nurturer, strategist, or something far more dangerous.
About the author
Amanda Agard is a seasoned cybersecurity professional, entrepreneur, and dedicated mother of two adventurous boys based in Washington, DC. Her life took an inspiring turn when she connected with Chris Cooley, founder of Cooley Comics, and participated in a self-realization therapy program that combines storytelling with the power of AI.
The transformative experience unlocked a new way for Amanda to channel her personal experiences and imagination. Motivated by the techniques she learned, Amanda set out to craft an allegorical fiction story reflecting her growth journey with neurodiversity, experiences of being multiethnic, and the abstract art of motherhood.
It’s the beginning of an adventurous, yet heartfelt exploration of resilience, transformation, and how life’s unintentional circumstances can mold us into the best versions of oneself.
